BambertheFramer
Bamber Hawes by Julian Lloyd

I trained as a 3D designer specialising in furniture design and manufacture (1979 – 1983).
After college I worked as a furniture and prototype maker, later moving into model making for architects and the advertising industry. Later I worked as an Art Director and set builder and prop maker.
In 1997 I set up Bamber’s Special Projects Ltd. and concentrated on the design and manufacture of bespoke furniture. I moved the business to Bishop’s Castle in 2005.
I have always been an artist in my spare time and made picture frames for my unconventional artworks.
I have exhibited in Submarine Gallery, London; and have been in many shows in Shropshire, Powys and Hereford.
I have been doing picture framing as my main business since 2016, in which time I have made thousands of bespoke frames.

Customer Stories: Experiences & Feedback
Discover what my clients have to say about me! Their words reflect the satisfaction and trust they have in my work.
We gave Bamber some ideas of what we liked, then gave him the freedom to use his own judgement and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product!

Thanks for being a good framer and also so interesting!

I recently brought an old Tibetan thangka to Bamber for restoration and mounting – the results were fantastic. He treated this special piece with real care and skill.
He’s also framed many pictures for my father-in-law over the years, always to a high standard. It’s no wonder he’s earned such respect locally.
What makes Bamber special is his genuine passion for framing. He understands that good framing enhances the artwork, and his suggestions really do bring out the best in each piece.
The experience was pleasant too – professional and friendly throughout. If you need quality framing or restoration in the Bishops Castle area, Bamber is your man. Proper craftsmanship with a personal touch – perfect for your treasured items. Highly recommended.
